Read Below for Frequently Asked Questions about the League/Season.
Who
Can Register?
St. Michael's Soccer Club is open to those
18 years and older, regardless of skill level and experience. You can either register as an individual player and be placed
on a squad, or you and your friends can register your existing team (minimum of 15 players per team). Our goal is to make
the game of soccer accessible to anyone wishing to play.
Where and when will the games be played?
The 2008 Outdoor season will start at the beginning of May/2008 and
run until the last Sunday in September/08. The majority of games will be played at Father Michael McGivney H.S. and Coppard
Park (located in the McCowan and Steeles area) and range in
time between 9a.m. and 4p.m. on Sunday mornings/afternoons. We will also be bringing back the Archangel Cup Tournament
against our sister league which will take place throuhout the season and will result in some teams having Saturday matches.
Cost of registration?
The cost for the 2008 season is $150/player (Team/Player provides
own uniform) or $175/player (League provides team/player with uniform). Individual players registering with the league
who wish to be placed on a team will be required to pay $175 which will include full jersey (top, shorts and socks).
Team Deposits
For those who wish to register
a team, team deposits for the 2008 season are as follows: $1350 or $1575 which works out to 9 players registration fees (depending
on the need for a uniform) will need to be received on or before March 24 2008. The remaining fees will need
to be received on or before April 21, 2008. There will be a $10 per player late fee that will apply to payments
made after the due dates.
Team Notes
For the 2008 outdoor season, teams will be fined $100 for their
1st defaulted game as a result of not being able to field 7 players by the start of the game, and $150 for their
2nd defaulted match. As a result, registered teams will be required to post a $250 bond which will be due before or on May
1, 2008. As well, fine payments for players incurring cards will automatically be subtracted from the team bond. Should any
team not have enough funds in their team bond to cover the fine for a defaulted game or player fines, the team captain will
be required to provide the league with the amount to cover the difference before the next game. Cash for any funds remaining
in the team bond will be issued to the TEAM CAPTAIN at the end of the 2008 season.
Team deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE and each team must ensure
that they have a minimum of 15 players. Any group that registers a team and fails to meet the 15 player minimum will lose
their deposit. Should the group of individuals still wish to play, the league will add players to their team at its discretion.
